Kundalini meditation--and all forms of Kundalini practice--are famous for leading to powerful awakenings. This is why Kundalini energy is usually described in ancient texts as a coiled-up snake--upon awakening, it moves up through the spine like a serpent, releasing vitality and energy to every part of the body in its wake.
Of course, Kundalini awakenings are very individual things. Some people feel the rising energy within them after just one session of Kundalini meditation or yoga, and for others it is a gradual process that happens over time. Regardless of what your particular case may be, however, we guarantee you that this meditation will have you feeling more relaxed, present, and awake during your everyday life.
This Kundalini meditation is an active meditation--so it might be a bit different from the mindfulness meditations you may be more familiar with. Rather than having you sit still on a pillow and try to clear your thoughts, you’ll be guided through various movements that will ultimately leave you feeling more alive and with a clearer mind than when you started.
Developed specifically with modern-day practitioners in mind, the philosophy behind this motion-filled meditation is that it doesn’t make sense to relax yourself by forcing yourself to sit still--most of us already do that everyday at our desk jobs. Instead it is better to move around and expel energy before finally attempting to relax yourself. As Osho, the spiritual leader who created this meditation put it: “Real meditation starts only when you are at rest”.

How to prepare?
Create your home space to support yourself in meditating, moving, sitting, and lying down. Our virtual room will open about 10 minutes before the start so you can troubleshoot any technical difficulties. We recommend you have drinking water and tissues nearby. Wear clothes in which you can move comfortably. Layers are preferable to support you in times of high or low energy.
What is an Active Meditation?
There’s more than one way to meditate. If you’ve tried traditional mindfulness meditations and found it difficult to calm your mind while sitting still, then you might find an active meditation especially helpful. Unlike what might come to mind when you think of “meditation”, active meditation uses motion to help you calm your mind–so be prepared to move around!
Active Meditations are great for beginning or experienced meditators. The meditation itself lasts about an hour with some welcoming instructions and time to set intentions at the beginning. Online access closes at 9:40 so as not to interrupt the process. There will be an opportunity to integrate this transformative experience afterwards.
